Power Seat stuck back. How to remove?
Power seat got spotty about moving forward. Finally failed completely, stuck as far back as it goes.
So, I can't get to the bolts to remove the seat. Help please.
..or...
Could it be the switch? If so, how can I test/repair/replace that?
I found one thread that just said "refer to the manual, section SE". I had a look, but can't see how to resolve this problem.
Thanks, all.

Hmmm... tricky problem. I'm in for updates and to see what others say.
In the mean time, I found this in a quick search. I don't know if it helps but here you go...

I had the problem on my previous Z (2003 Touring) two years ago. The seats had been performing off and on for months. One day, the motor completely gave out. I did my research and came to realize that it was a huge hassle to replace the motor. I ended up selling that Z and picking up a new one as that one seats problems and was buring copious amounts of oil.
You can undo all the seats bolts. Use sockets, extensions, and swivels. It is tight and difficult, but it can be done.
Beware, though, that it is not always the switch that fails.

I had this problem on my '04 Z about 6 months ago. It started out working fine, that is until one day it got jammed leaning forward. Somehow, I manage to play with the switch and positioned the seat back to normal position. Headed to the dealer and ordered a new switch for the driver side. I had to remove the entire seat and it's four sockets to replace the switch...now works like a charm.
Hopefully that works for you as well 8->

Thanks, all. I do kind of suspect the switch, since the motor was capable of moving it back, just not forward. Sounds, though, like I still need to remove the seat in order to replace the switch. So I'm still at square one - how to remove the seat? I appreciate the comment re sockets, extensions and swivels. But the seat is positioned pretty snuggly over the back bolts. I really don't see how I'm going to get a socket on it, much less get it to turn.

There is a bolt in the seat track that you can get to from under the seat. See 87000AC in the diagram below. If memory serves me correctly, removing it allows you to slide the seat forward and backward.
