Anyone have this noise on cold start ups? The comments said timing chain or low oil. I tried contacting people that commented on the video but no one has gotten back. Is this common?
There's a tensioner that uses oil pressure to keep the chain properly tensioned when the engine is running. It's got a ratchet locking mechanism that keeps the chain from going slack when the engine is off. It sounds like the ratchet on yours is broken or not working properly for some reason, and the chain is loose for a few seconds until the oil pressure comes up. See the pictures in post #1 of this thread: https://my350z.com/forum/engine-driv...ing-chain.html
Oil. Watch the gauge. It should come down to 60 at idle pretty quickly but if it's coming down further that is the issue.
Well when the engine is warmed up I idle at about 30psi (I think). Wait so does that mean that I need to add more oil? I checked the POS dipstick and it's still has enough oil in it.
