Default My Valve Stem Broke... Should this be a Warranty Item?

I was unscrewing the cap on my rear right valvestem.. and basically the top half of the valve stem came of with it! Its not entirely busted... just the top half of the part where u can put the cap on.. but now I can barely put air into the valvestem.. and I can't seem to understand how this could have broken just like that! My rim has not been damaged at all... The dealer doesn't wnat to warranty this item.. shouldn't this be a warranty issue????

probably not. if you bent a part of your suspension, thats your fault, not a defect... same goes for a valve stem. it should be a cheap fix regardless, I wouldn't worry about it.

Well actually, a new valve stem costs over 300 dollars because I have the touring edition with the tire pressure guages. Bending my suspension would be due to an accident or my negligence... this thing just plain out broke... all I did was attempt to take off my valve stem cap..

Do you have the tire warranty? If not, I think your're out of luck!

Isn't the valve stem separate from the TPS? I know people remove the TPS and sell 'em.

It should be warrantied with the TPS monitor, since its all one unit. I'd definitely bring it up with your dealer. They'll have to replace it.

I was under the impression that those people who sell them have gotten new tires and rims with completely new valve stems in them anyway.

Right, but some people strap mount them on the rims and I didn't remember seeing the stem... since it doesn't fit a lot of rims.

That's true and it may be removable, but I'll bet Nissan will just replace the whole unit.
