Why can't you let it warm up?

Your manual says 5w30. You can also use 10w30. Here in NJ, it gets extreme heat and extreme cold. I use 5w30 in the winter, and 10w30 in the summer. Either way, you're fine.

10w-30 High Mileage has more ZDDP for the flat tappets.

I Run 10w-40 High Mileage and have awesome oil analysis, but I'm in AZ.

Jersey native here. Apparently doesn't know much about cold either. Need to get out / travel more.

Why not instead of "just get in and go" you sit there for a minute and let your engine warm up?

Sounds crazy, but Mazola corn oil works the best.

While under warranty, I'd follow Nissan's letter-of-the-law to a T, which states 5-30.

Been living here 30 years, If you don't think 105 degrees with 100% humidity is hot and 0 degrees is cold (unless you live in alaska), then idk what planet you live on. Sure there are places that hit 120, but I doubt the humidity is as high as it is here. It's probably dry heat there.

I'm no almanac buff, but I don't recall the last time it was 0F in NJ. It's also more hot and humid in the southeast (GA, FL, etc.), as well as across the south like Texas where it isn't dry heat (yet). If you don't like H/H, just don't to those places. . . ever.

Im originally from MD and it gets just as cold/hot there, which isnt really that hot or cold. look at the about of shade you have in Jersey compared to places like west Texas or Nevada. And it very rarely gets to be 0F in jersey, maybe 10F. And at those temps I'd let my car warm up for a few mins while I
warm up too. And those places with 120F temps, like the middle east actually have the humidity as well. I just got back and now that is HOT. Qatar, UAE, places like that around the persian gulf get that humidity at night especially and blistering hot during the day. Absolutely, unbearable!!

It doesn't matter. Either weight is fine.

LOL @ extreme cold in New Jersey... 0F? That's a warm winter day where I'm from.

5w-30 or 10w-30, you can run either without worry.
