Car won't start after seat install
Just want to make sure I cover everything that happened.
Earlier today I had 4 new tires installed and driving home everything was fine.
I was redoing my seats so I had the passanger seat out for the past week.
When I got home I decided to reinstall the seat. I hooked everything up and started the car, It hesitated a little but started right up. A few mins later I tried to move the car and it won't start. It cranks but won't turn. I did disconnect the battery before reconnecting the seat.
I tried the ECU reset but still won't start, battery is fine.
I also disconnected the battery for 10 mins but still nothing. I checked the fuses next to the battery and in the kick panel but all was intact.
I did some searched and believe it has something to do with Nats/immobilizer since it did not have any issues before.
The car is an 03 with 87k miles. Please help. I figured I could not mess up seat covers but I guess I was wrong.

Hmmmm.....well I'll say that if it was in good working order. Then you might have blown a fuse when you was un hooking the battery. Crazy, I know check the fuse panel underneath the battery for any damaged or blown fuses.

I think it's electrical since it only stopped working after I put the seats back in. Strange part is that it started once after the seats were in then stopped working.

I do have an aftermarket alarm as well, not sure if thats part of it but the alarm still works. I tried disconneting the seat as well but that did not work.
Running out of ideas.

Got an OBD II scanner and confirmed that I have 0 codes thrown.
I also checked the secuirty light and it does not stay on so it does not seem like it's in lock out mode. Running out of options, may have to tow to the dealership and pay $$$$.
On another note, I have been looking for a reason to get a new car.

Hey sorry to hear about this issue. Not sure how mechanically inclined you are but you can start diagnosing certain things to narrow it down.
1. When ignition is on do you hear the fuel pump Prime? If no check fuse under hood. Second down on right side if memory serves me correctly.
2. Make sure it's getting ignition. Easy way to try is remove front right coil and spark plug. Put spark plug on the end of coil and have some one start the car. While cranking put tip of spark plug to side of car or bolt for a ground. This will show if getting spark. If there is no spark it narrows it down to certain things also.
I personally would try those to help ease the pain of waiting and maybe you just might find the issue.
Positive side of a dealer looking at it they have consult which can read all voltages and see exactly what not right. Diagnosis should only be so much and then you have to decide if u want to pay there labor rates or fix it your self.
Good luck.

They said it was the fuel pump, guess it was chance that it happened to go out right when I installed my seats. Oh well, I never expected it to be fuel as I could here the pump turn on when I turn the key. One note, it sucks to tow a lowered car. I had to remove my front bumper and side skirts and they still need ramps to load the car.

Yeah I had to remove my front bumper every time also, but fortunately the intercooler would clear.
Glad your got it fixed. I knew it was something like what I mentioned. Over 7 years of ripping 350z apart u learn a few things.

Does not sound like fuel pump, I think they are ripping you off. Request the old fuel pump when you get the car back, plus ask for the diagnostic procedure they used to condemn it. Should have amperage draw and other fun details.

I hear you, the issues does not match but
it's a close friends shop that's doing the install. I only trust them.
I'm just glad the car's running and it's not a major repair. I wish I would have caught it myself, would have saved a few hundred.
