Exclamation Clutch making a weird whining noise?

hello. this is my first post on here so im sorry if this is in the wrong spot. lol

I am a first time owner of an 06 Z33 base model.
dealership bought with 136xxx miles
love the car and everything about it, but i have a problem.

Ive had the car for maybe three weeks now,(dealership bought) and i just started noticing last week that when push in my clutch, it starts to make a whining noise? and also half way up making the same noise, but when i release the clutch, the noise stops? It also makes the noise when shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd, but seems to go away after that. the sound is also accompanied by a hot glue gun, burning rubber sort of smell, and just two days ago i noticed the rpms werent really matching my speed(first gear 4k rpms going 10-15 mph)
and i felt that all the way through the gear box, 1st -4th. felt like i wasnt going as fast as i should be. Like it was holding back.

so i took it to the dealership and they took me to a shop, im guessing one they regularly go to, and had them look at it. and the shop gave me the "well we drove your car and the clutch engages fine, what was your concern?"

idk maybe the WHINING NOISE AND BURNING SMELL coming from my clutch when i engage it!?!?

can anybody on here help me out? ill post a link to a youtube video of the noise its making. I just took the video this morning.

and thank you in advance!

here she is.

Your clutch is slipping and the burning smell you're experiencing means that there's probably not any lining left, so your clutch disk is grinding through your flywheel . It's time for a new clutch. The longer you wait, the more likely it is that you'll be stranded somewhere and that you're going to need to replace more than just your clutch and TOB.

The noise you hear is your clutch throw out bearing. The classic symptom of a worn-out throw out bearing is a whirring or growling sound when applying the clutch pedal, which goes away when you release the clutch pedal.

The throw-out bearing is located between the clutch plate and the pressure plate fingers, and it only operates when the clutch pedal is depressed. The bearing is idle when the clutch is released.

You should have this repaired since it is probably causing excessive wear on the fingers of the clutch’s pressure plate. If the bearing seizes (and it will in the case you describe), it will ruin the pressure plate and possibly more damage in your clutch assembly.

This should have been obvious to the technician who test drove your car.

^This is true. I've experienced this. You will have to replace the clutch and flywheel.
The hydraulic system is crap on the Z33's.
I have replaced the master, slave, line. Bled and bled and bled. Pedal drop problems. Noisy TOB's. The new one in my car from last year is starting to howl a bit now.
I'm buying a Wilwood master over the winter (Canadian) and that should fix my pedal drop/ engagement point problem. I havent been burning the clutch and my bearings not bad so I wont have to replace that again....

Throw out bearing,... mine is starting to do this, but only on cold starts and goes away. Stock/original clutch and I just approach 90K

^^ Yes, a worn throw-out bearing will display symptoms first in cold weather when the bearing doesn’t spin as freely.

At 90K a 350z owner can consider replacing the clutch (but, some owners go past 100K). The throw-out bearing is replaced when you replace your other clutch components.

Thank you everyone for the responses! So basically it's my throw out bearing. Lol

And as far as the smell, the shop said they found a plastic bag melted to my exhaust.
Guess I just have to wait for it to burn off.

^^ Good point. Usually the throw out bearing is replaced together with the clutch, or vise versa. --Spike

Thanks for everyone's input and advice! What I gathered was my throw out bearing needs to be replaced along with my flywheel and clutch plate.

^^ Steven… Yes to your question.

You need to replace the throw-out bearing for sure. And when this is replaced, it’s usually necessary to replace at least some other clutch components.

And, I’ll repeat my earlier comment: The technician who took your car for a test drive should have told you all of this immediately
