Default Please help! Oil pressure gauge

Alright well this morning on my way to work I notice my oil pressure gauge is above 120psi and it doesn't move unless I turn off the car and it goes back down. Also when I put it in acc it goes to 120 and when I turn it on it goes pass 120. Is this bad or is it just the sensor unit or something? Thanks oh and it's a 04 350z with 86k and all maintains done on time (automatic)

Your oil pressure sending unit has probably gone out. I think a new one is around $80 and replacing it is a fairly easy DYI.

I'm hoping this is my issue also...reading is at 120 at start up once she gets going and just idling it drops down to 60 or below...upon acceleration of course it climbs back up. The dipstick reading is normal so do you think it's just the gauge?

does the replacement need to be done during an oil change and does anyone know the torque spec for the sensor?
thank you

I just replaced my Oil Sending Unit and I'm still having the same issue.
The dipstick is reading near the "H" mark and this is what the oil gauge reads. At this point I'm thinking it might be the gauge itself that needs to be replaced, is there something else that it could be?

-60 PSI at start up
-Fluctuates between 60-90 PSI during acceleration
-Drops below 60 PSI after 10-15 min
-Drops 30 and below after 30 min

No I still have the same issue. I'll probably end up replacing the gauge itself. I'm thinking I've removed that center console many times so maybe in the process I've damaged it somehow. I've driven her several times and the oil dipstick seems to be reading normal each time.
