Speedometer turns off randomly.
My speedometer has been giving me issues for months now. Every once in a while (2-3 times a month) it drops to 0MPH while I'm driving and odometer stops counting. If I turn the car off and back on, everything is back to normal. I may not see the issue for weeks but it comes back eventually.
Any ideas?

have you unplugged your heating/cooling control panel in the past…possibly during a stereo install?
If that unit is unplugged the speedo & tach don't function…I do not know why…
also check your fuses...

I did. But that was in the summer. After I bought the car in July, it did it once (before stereo install). Tach doesn't have any issues. Everything is fine aside from speed sensor affected components - main speedometer, digital speedometer, odometer, trip computer, and, obviously, fuel consumption is thrown off. If I don't restart the car and drive for 5min or longer, TPMS sensor starts blinking. But, from what I've found, it is one of the error codes - among other things, if there is no speed reading from the wheels, TPMS freaks out. The light turns off after I restart the car and drive for a min or two.
I was under the car recently and cleaned the rear sensors with a nylon brush. They were really dusty. I doubt that did anything though :/

Today speedometer turned off again. Restarted the car, UltraGuage registered a code P0460 - "Fuel Level Sensor Unit (Slow)." No CEL.
There is one result on Google that relates speed sensor issue and P0460
http://www.nissanclub.com/forums/200...3-5-p0460.html
However, no replies to that guy. I know my fuel gauge has been off for as long as I remember. Sometimes I will see it hit almost E within 200 miles... and then I drive for another 150 at almost E. If I get gas when E light comes on, I often get only 14Gal (20Gal tank, right?).
Does anyone have any ideas?
TIA
