Check Engine Error P0345
I was driving home from work yeasterday and my engine just died while driving. The check engine light, Slip & TCP light all light up and the car wouldn't turn over till the 3rd try. I stopped by auto zone and had them do a printout of the code P0345.
It says it could be:
1: Open or short circuit condition
2: Poor electrical connection
3: Weak Battery condition
4: Faulty CMP
I charged the battery overnight when I got home & it seemed to work till my gf took the car to the store & the some thing happened to her. Luckily I have a battery pack in my car I told her how to connect it to jump the car. she said she could smell something electrical burning but who knows.
Its a 2005 350z with 100k miles on it & just had the oil changed & have a full tank of gas if that is relevant.
Any ideas what I should try next?
I have a 15 mile drive to work very early in morning & don't want it to die on me.

Most likely culprit is the battery. Pull it and take it in to be tested. Simply charging it may mask the problem, but won't solve it. I notice the batteries in my Z seem to last about 4-5 years before they simply refuse to hold a charge. Might also want to check the alternator function to make certain it's not malfunctioning and overcharging the battery.
just had auto zone do a battery check & they said it looks good. They said it could be the camshaft sensor bank 2 but didn't have a replacement in stock. I sprayed some connector spray on the sensors connector & seems to be starting perfectly. hopefully it will get my to work before I can get a replacement...

Hate to say it, but just throwing parts at a problem isn't such a great DIY tactic. It could be a bad connector, a ground that's corroded or other electrical issue. This is where a sharp tech with a plan to troubleshoot individual problems is far ahead of the rest of us. For someone who counts on their Z as a DD, it may actually be cheaper to go this route vs. throwing parts at it and hoping.
