Default Cruise Control randomly stopped working

I've seen a few threads about this but none are having the same issues I am. I was driving and wanted to use my cruise control and nothing happened. I hit the button and not even the "Cruise" light would come on. NO blinking, nor anything for that matter. I've checked all the connectors for the clutch/brake etc. Any ideas? Everything else seems to be working perfectly, And no codes have been thrown.

I am having difficulty remembering which vehicle... I have owned so many Z's...

One of my Z's had a similar issue, but I am thinking it is my '03 350z. When I took the car to the Nissan Dealership, the guy told me that the cruise control is connected to the same wiring as the rear lights. One of the rear lights went out and that caused my cruise control to not work.

Since I can not remember for the life of me if this is from my 350z or not, I would say its worth looking into as a "simple fix" but otherwise don't spend too much time on it unless someone else can confirm.

I've owned an '83, '84, '87, '89 and my '03. Can't remember which Z

Your clockspring might be bad.

How would I know if it's the clockspring?

Bumping this for info.

I have an 05z, 6 speed. My cruise control light was blinking for about a month whenever I tried turning it off so I simply kept it off. Now it wont turn on or blink at all....

The car is not giving me a code.

I will try swapping out the clutch pressed sensor with the clutch released sensor (forget their correct names) to see if that makes a diff, because maybe its a fried sensor. My z has 75k so its well out of warranty, and if the dealer will charge me an arm to diagnose then I will skip fixing it till the Z is paid off.

I had the same problem when I was trying to wire my cruise control up ( aftermarket wheel, switches mounted in the dash) Since your problem just started to happen out of the blue, I would put my money on the cruise control buttons/switches going bad.

It's only 2 wires and the signals are based off resistance.
