Default Brembos/Suspension Jerking

Great, a new problem I have noticed today. I have 2003 350Z Track, w/Brembo brakes obviously. I noticed today that something appears to be loose in the front right-hand side of the vehicle. I can notice a 'jerking' sensation when applying the brakes at low speed right before I come to a full stop. It also makes a very slight sound when you get to a complete stop, sounds sort of like a dull knock ... very subtle but noticable. It feels like maybe a control arm is loose or the brakes are not releasing gracefully or something. I did have the compression rod TSB performed, perhaps this is shot again. Anyone have a similar experience? I will have to bring her in first thing tomorrow morning as I do not want to make matters worse. I also just had my front tires replaced. Wonder if anything could have been knocked loose, or if maybe the lug nuts weren't tightened completely during this procedure. Any sugestions appreciated.

I had the same thing, it will get worse....

I tightened the two bolts that hold the upper control arm to the body of the car. That solved the problem.

You need a 14mm wrench, box end wrench is better than open end. Don't have to remove the wheels, but the bolts are easier to reach with the car jacked up. Takes about 5 minutes to fix. I did both sides, just for good measure.

Hope that helps.

Please stop and immediately check your lug nut torque. You don't want to lose a wheel on the highway!

You are correct, I realized that it was not a component of the breaking system as I could achieve the same sound when driving over a speed bump. Just spoke with my service advisor and he mentioned that they had to tighten a bolt on the front right lower control arm (which was replaced according to them, but I think that they were referring to the compression rod). When did this problem first occur for you? Has the problem reccured for you? Did you have the steering drift TSB (compression rod) performed? He also stated that my alignment is in spec, however my wheel has been 'crooked' ever since they performed the first alignment. Now even with a brand new pair of Bridgeston Potenza RE040 front tires. I am NOT leaving the dealership until the friggin' wheel is straight.

I had the alignment fixed a long time ago. And, I never experienced the steering drift, so I did not ask for the work to be performed. My alignment has been spot-on for the past 9000 miles.

My clunking started about two months ago. I noticed it going slow over speed bumps, turning and going up a hill like in my parking garage and at stoplights when I come to a stop. It was only from the right front.

The two bolts holding the upper control arm to the body were loose. I was able to get two good turns on each one before they were tightened. I could not get a torque wrench in there because the coil spring is in the way, so I just tightened as much as I could with the closed-end 14mm wrench.

I only just tightened them up last Thursday, so the clunking has not returned.

Hope that helps

Dealer actually told me today that the clunking sound was NOT the lower control arm, and that there was a "New" TSB for the problem and that they have fixed it. I will probe a little more tomorrow and see what it says on the invoice.
