Question Quick question: Trans/Diff Oil ?

I am changing out my clutch with a JWT clutch since I am not planning on doing anything special for a while.

I wanted to know what brand of Oil do you recommend for the transmission since I will drain it out and the Differential as well. I am pressed for time so I don't think I have time to order something and get here Tuesday. but if I had to go to a local place to get some, Autozone, Discount auto kinda places what do you recommend? also the weight and stuff would be help full..

I typed "Best Transmission Oil" in search but couldn't find much

redline oil is good for the trans and diff. you should be able to get it at your local auto parts store too.

I use redline oil. Use the GL5 in the rear end and GL4 in the transmission. Without heading over to the shop I couldn't tell you which one is which. I'm pretty sure I run MT90 in my trans which is a little thicker than stock but I don't drive the car in the winter. I don't remember what I used on the diff for weight. I think there is a thread about it on here and I posted what I run. It works really well. Very smooth shifting.

Ah, People used to mix them to get the thickness we need but now that I checked their site Redline makes the proper one: MT85. It's gl4 in the proper oem weight for the transmission.

75w90 gear oil from redline is what I use in the differential. GL5 and proper weight. Summitracing.com has them in stock at a good price.

I think you need just over 3 bottles for the transmission and just over 2 for the differential. I always keep extra on hand so I do'nt really pay attention to how much it takes when I change the fluids.

Yeah I agree with redline it's all I've ever used on my cars. Just make sure you get the right weight and gl type
