Default Car overheating + oil problem

So I need some help guys!

So my car has been overheating over the past 2 weeks, and the heater hasn't been working.. I replaced the thermostat, which didn't do anything, and then I thought there was an air bubble. So I bled all the air out, and the car worked perfectly fine for 3 days, heater worked and all, and then it overheated again and the heater didn't work either. Then I bled all the air out again, and the car worked for 3 days again, before it overheated again.

EDIT: When the car over heated and I popped the hood, there was some coolant around the radiator cap. I don't know if it came from there, but I did end up getting a new radiator cap.

Now I checked the oil level and all of the oil has been burnt. I don't believe I have an oil leak, could it have burned because the car has been overheating?

Also, I have a huge leak around my catalytic converter area, which looks like water and feels like water. I poured coolant around it to make sure it wasn't coolant, and I don't believe it was.

Anybody have any suggestions? I need some help with all of these problems!

Thanks guys!

This is a guess, and I hope I’m wrong but really think my guess is accurate.

You might have a warped head and your head gasket is no longer providing a good seal. Your heater isn’t working because engine coolant is leaking slowly into the engine. That’s what you noticed when examining the exhaust system (the coolant looks differently when it gets that far).

You are burning oil because of the warped head. Also, the car’s camshaft is probably damaged.

Well crap… I hope that I’m wrong. Don’t keep driving the car until you resolve this.

Dang I'm really hoping it's not the head gasket...

The car is a 2006 and it only has 70k miles.

Anybody else have any other suggestions?

Another suggestion. Take your car to a competent mechanic and get the problem diagnosed. You need to get your car fixed and the internet is not the place for a diagnosis.

^Agreed- you've listed enough serious symptoms that speculating on a fix can be a danger in itself. If you do have a blown head gasket, you're likely contaminating what little oil you have left and this could lead to serious damage to your VQ, which really relies on good lubrication. A qualified tech with a professional leak-down gauge should be able to diagnose what's really going on and is the step you NEED to take.
