My car shifts ok...a little notchy, maybe. But, I don't know what fluid is in it, or how long it's been in there (obviously, it's new to me). So, replacing tranny and rear diff fluid this weekend...I'm going with the Redline 50/50 mix for the Tranny and MT 90 for the rear diff. And teaching my stepson how to do it...so, that's like a win/win.

The trans is also just noisy at idle in neutral with the clutch out. There is nothing you can do about it.
I just bought my 2003 touring few weeks ago. I noticed this noise you're talking about few days ago. I thought it was the throw out bearing. Maybe its just normal for the tranny?

It's normal. It has a chattery sound at idle. I've noticed when it's cold it has a different almost howling type noise but when the oil gets warmed up that goes away.
