Default NATS question

Ok trying to get a straight answer. Installed a new motor and ecu. My key won't work with the car now. My question is can i have new keys cut to work with the new ecu or do i have to have nissan reflash the ecu or get an osiris uprev and disable it?

There is a chip in your key that must correspond to one that frees the ignition.

Get help from your Nissan dealership to solve this problem.

i know I've called them and one person told me i needed a new key and one said its a lot more than that. Would buying an osiris uprev fix my problem cause i could just disable the nats?

Yes you can have NATS disabled with an Uprev reflash. Much better option IMO than giving the dealer $200+ to reprogram it since you get the enjoy the tune as well.. OP feel free to PM me if you have any questions about how it works

id personally pay the 200$...eventually to have my key and ecu nats okayd. i cant tell you why...other than the irational fear of having to flash the car back to stock and not being able to drive it...or something....

Every person who gets dyno tuned with Uprev does essentially the same thing... Osiris license flashed onto the ECU, dyno tune, and for the most part forgets about it

You can always just do base pulls on a dyno for $50 or so then scan the sheet and email it.. kind of a crude way to tune but it gets the job done

eh...if i drive the 3 hours to do a base pull ill just get it dyno tuned....
ive honestly just been so wish washy about my car...id always say im gona keep it stock, and id come across a part on sell or a great deal.
id get the pro 700$ one and a wide band over in the left bank. read everything i could, and make small adjustments after the initial dyno tune.
ive used megasquirt before and that was easy breezy....different game all together i know. but i just dont like the idea that id pay some one and hope its good with out me being able to check.
if im gona do it, im gona do it right and learn some more along the way.

ive just always heard horror stories of people going to " good shops to get a tune, and comeing out happy, some point in time later getting it done somewhere else and running like a 15.5 af, or worse blowing their engines. i mean theirs no warranty for ted at the "shop" not knowing what hes doing....now i havent heard many of those stories in the past few years. but if al lthe shops around where good ones, no new ones could ever open up, or old ones would never close.
actually that reminds me of a fellow i knew that had a sti....he flew a fellow up, paid for hotel, meals all that. just for this guy to tune his car...but i guess it was worth it to him.

True there are a lot of shady shops out there that may or may not know what they're doing but guaranteed they all want your money. Gotta be careful

When I bought another ECU I had it reflashed with Uprev and NATS was gone. I can basically plug the ECU to any car and it would run. Just that red security led is lit up all the time though.
