Default vibrating noise gear stick

Hi,
I recently bought a 2005 350z (European), superb car

I only have one issue with it...only when accelerating fast, in high RPM area's, the gear stick is vibrating in such a way it's making a quite irritating noise. When you put your hand on the gear stick the sound will disappear. So the noise is coming from the gear stick. Has anyone experienced this before, and more importantly, how to fix this?

Is it a stock shift ****? My z has a nismo shift **** and the screw inside the top of it came loose a while back and was vibrating like that. Took it off and tightened it and it's gone.

Mine makes the same annoying sound too, it's stock. I took mine off and screwed it back on tighter thinking it was loose but it's still making the same sound. My solution was to turn up the radio.

Hi Peter… It should not be that loud. Apparently the noise is coming from excessive vibration.

Do this to check for the problem’s origin:

1. Pull up on the cover piece that is over the shift boot and includes the car’s climate controls. It will pop-up easily.

2. Look at the large rubber gasket and sound deadening surrounding the shift lever. If the boot is torn or the white sound-deadening is displaced, fix this by replacing the damaged pieces.

Here is a link that has pictures:
