Exclamation New Transmission installed still making noises? ?

Hello this is my first 03 350z i bought 2 months ago. just recntly the tranny started to grind 3rd and 4th. So i got a refurbished one from a well known transmission place and also changed the flywheel, clutch, driveshaft, (got a custom made one with replacable U joints), also the slave and master cylinder. I got the car back recently and the shiffting and clutch is smooth as ever but
when i shift from 1st to 2nd or 3rd to 4th on 2k-3k rpm, it feels as if the shift **** hits something on its way to the next gear. It doesnt make a noise but is this normal ? this is my first manual car so im not sure how its suppose to feel. I have a year warranty on all the parts.

Does this only happen when the engine/transmission is cold? These gearboxes are not exactly renown for their smooth changes, especially from 1st to 2nd, some are better than others but are generally quite stiff when cold. Have you tried adding some molyslip? Have you taken it back to the fitters to see what their opinion is? Is your clutch pedal returning to the right height after shifting?

Get the shifter adjusted properly. It might take some trial and error.

-Not only when its cold.. it happens always. even when the car is warm.

-No i havent even heard of molyslip, ill look into it.

-No i have not taken it back to them yet but i am calling them later today to let them no

-&yes my clutch is returning to the same height.

One more thing is that when i start my car in the morning, cold.. the rpm goes up and drops back to about 100 and the car shakes like it wants to turn off. I have to give it some gas to prevent that. The one time i didnt give it any gas, it turned off. Does this mean the tranny fluid is low? Can this be a problem relating to my 1st to 2nd shift problem ?

The guy in this post says that he cant even find the right gears when he shifts. That isnt the problem with me. I dont think that the shifter is adjusted wrong.

Take a second look at the thread... Slight misalignment makes for slight rubs when shifting. It may be your problem...

Im not sure, im assuming they refilled it with the fluid required in the nissan book. Also, when i shift to third now, i can feel a click on the ****. I cant hear it, but i can feel it in the palm of my hand. Its the exact feeling i got on third before my synchros started going out before replacing the transmission.

Ive been ignoring the shift **** situation and today as i parked in front of my house and put the **** in neutral, i heard a click in my clutch pedal. Not loud at all, but i heard it and felt it on my foot. I turned the car off and pushed the clutch pedal in and about 3/4 of the way down, it makes a click noise. It doesnt make the noise when coming back up, only when going down. Even when the car is off. Im assuming its the throwout bearing but that was just recently replaced with the transmission/clutch/flywheel/driveshaft job. Any idea on what it could be ??

First… Your shifter’s gates are out of alignment. That’s why you are sensing interference while shifting.

Secondly… You may need to replace the transmission fluid. Hopefully that is the fix. If it doesn’t fix the problem you need to discover the transmission version that was recently installed in your car. What version do you have?

Thirdly… Don’t worry about transmission noises in your 350z since this car is notorious for this.

^^ Nissan replaced my transmission under the 5 year 60K warranty. I did not pay anything for it. The replacement transmission was MUCH better than the original OEM transmission. --Spike
