Default Warped Rotor?

Hey guys,

I tracked my Z for the first time this weekend. In my last run session the brake light came on so I took one last victory lap and got off the track. Now the rear passenger side brake squeaks when I press on the pedal as well as when I release and am coasting or driving at low speeds. It probably does it at higher speeds too but I can't really hear it too well. I'm guessing it's a warped rotor that's rubbing, any other thoughts?

I'm also looking at purchasing the Z1 Motorsports brake kit (includes drilled/slotted rotors, pads, fluid, and brake lines), does anyone have any experience with this product? Thanks for the help!

If you have the OEM brakes (not the monoblock Brembos), the rears do take a beating at track days. Not sure if it's a warped rotor, or just badly pads. Either way, pulling the wheel and checking it is the only way to be sure. If both the pads and rotor look good, I'd check the wheel bearing on the RR side.

I think it might be your wear indicator rubbing to let you know your brake pad is too thin. A warped rotor would vibrate under braking.

My non brembo rears pads used to move slightly under hard braking when they got worn down and they would squeak with the brake light on. You may just need new pads.

They are the OEM brakes (not Brembos). I'll pull the wheel and take a look at the pads and rotor- what are some things I should be looking for on the rotor? I figured the light was on because of the wear indicator, but I also know the rotors felt a bit warped under braking at the track. It did seem to smooth out in the second, third and fourth sessions though. Thanks for the help guys!

for the brake light - check your brake fluid.

Great, thanks for all the feedback!

Anyone have any experience on the Z1 Motorsports brake package?
