Default Ticking/clicking noise

Hi everyone, I recently purchased an 03 350z 6mt with 116k miles on it. Car is very clean inside and out with a clean title. It has jwt popcharger and tanabe catback exhaust.

Anyway, everything runs fine. However, I've noticed that when I cold start the car it will make a ticking/clicking noise after about a minute from initial startup. Now the noise does go away after the engine completely warms up but I would like to know what it may be.

When it is making the noise, if I hold the rpms above 1500~ or so the noise will stop. Also once the noise goes away, it won't make it again until I let the car completely cool down.

I've read that the fuel dampers could cause such a noise but I'm not sure. It appears to be coming from the very back of the engine, and is most audible when you listen to it under the car (towards to rear of engine).

The noise cannot be heard with the doors closed windows up. Asides from this, the car runs fine and pulls hard.

Thank you

I had a very similar sound on my 08. Mine ended up being the passenger side cat failing. I would suspect fuel dampers if this isn't your issue.

1)possible exhaust leak
2)possible low oil pressure (watch your gauge)

Should be one of the two of those, low oil pressure causes noisy lifters and cam chains upon startup.
