Default Reverse Light Switch

Hey guys and gals. I'm a DIY type guy to save money. I was wondering if anyone could help me. My reverse light switch has gone bad and before I take my car to Nissan I really would like to replace it myself. How can I get to the switch from inside the car. I do realize it's located driver side on top of the transmission. My Z is an 06 enthusiast M/T. If you could include pics as well I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks you all in advance.

You can not get to it from the inside of the car unless you drill big holes.

I spoke with a tech at the Nissan dealership here and they said that's how they replace them from the inside they didn't mention drilling any holes. I did ask them if they drop the transmission to get to it from under the car instead and he insured me that they do it from inside the car.
