Default Redline Manual Transmission Fluid Review

Im on the last lap on some engine repairs and with the transmission out of the car I decided to swap out transmission fluid. A buddy helping me out with my engine work highly suggested Redline but told me to do my research before finalizing my decision.

I read many post of what others have done in the past and couldnt make a decision solely off what I read - it almost seemed that for every one person who had a good experience with Redline there was a person who had a bad experience.

With how easy the swap is I decided to give it a go...

Doing some research I found Redline MT90 (75w90) locally for $13 a quart. Which was about $3 cheaper than what places on the net were selling for and about the same price as OEM MT fluid.

I added one quart of fluid and will add the remaining 2.25 once were a little bit further along with the re-install.

I'll report back on this thread over the next few months to

Lol, what's the point of this thread if you can't post your review until a few months later?

I've tried several different fluids but I keep going back to Redline. Shifts tend to be a little easier and stay that way a little longer with it than the others I've tried, in my experience.

BTW, are you doing MT-90 for all of it? There's MT-85 and MTL as well, in case you didn't already know.

MT90 is a higher viscocity than Nissan recommends for our gearboxes. Knowledgeable Z33 owners used to blend MT90 and MTL to get the viscocity down to an 85 range, but since Redline began producing MT85 a few years ago, there's no need! I've been using MT85 in both my street and race Z for years now and have found no need to try anything else. That's my review.

I'm running mt90. Can't really tell a difference but at least it's new and synthetic so eh.

The point is to put a few (thousand) miles on the car before I conclude...
