Default Repairin Head Gaskets

Hi All,

A few weeks ago I learnt that my head gaskets were gone and had to get them replaced so I ordered the 'kit' off ebay and was hoping to learn how to do it myself.

Has anyone here done it themselves?

Mark

I know there are some guides on it. I hope you return the ebay package and buy everything you need from a dealer or someone who has a reputation for quality OEM replacement parts. Second it may take some time if you have not done it before and are not mechanically inclined. As in make sure you have a second vehicle because you could spend 2-3 weekends getting stuff apart and back together.

Hate to say it, but head gaskets don't just "go"; there's always a reason behind that kind of failure. If you don't address the reason the headgasket(s) failed, you'll put yourself in line for another costly repair. And if you're asking questions like this, there's real reason to believe that you don't have the skills to tackle such a job like this. Although I have a garage and a full set of tools to work on such a project (and have rebuilt engines in the past), I'd hesitate to take on such a project without expert help.
