Default Car won't honk when i lock

I cannot get my 350z to honk when i lock the car! The hazards will blink twice and thats all that happens. I hate having to watch the car when i walk away from it to see if it successfully locked. Ive looked all over and in the manual and all i see is the hold the lock and unlock on the key fob for about 5-10 seconds and you should here a honk. I have tried that multiple times and it will not work. Any ideas?

It is in silent mode. I'll have to do some searching on how to get it to honk again. I think you hold both lock and unlock at the same time.

i already tried that. In the manual which I did look at it said to hold the lock and unlock button. When I try to do that it does not honk and won't get out of silent mode

When you're near the Z and hold the lock and unlock buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds, you should either see the lights flash (silent mode), or they will flash and the horn honks (normal mode). If this does not happen, something is amiss. Are you certain the horn is operational? Have you checked the wiring to the horn itself?

I haven't checked any wiring but I it works from the steering wheel and it sounds like it's working fine. When I hold the buttons no lights do anything.

Still looking to get this fixed. I can't find anyone online having this same problem. Should I try getting a new key fob? All the buttons work but I'm not sure why holding the lock and unlock button doesn't switch between the honk to lock mode and silent mode.

Do your turn signals flash like its changing modes there is just no honk? Does your horn work otherwise?

So you are certain pressing the horn ring on the steering wheel provides a good signal from the horn (it honks LOUDLY).
