Very warm ignition switch
Ok did a few searches and not quite what i was looking for, my questions is this.
Has anyone with a 03 - 09 had it where there ignition switch/tumbler was cooking their keys while driving, now I know its not a short or anything like that I just wondering if the metal heated up from sitting in the sun all day. I hope its just that. Tried driving the same distance with the A/C on and it didn't get as hot but the keys were cool when i got home. But any comments or suggestion will help.

You didn't find anything, because this isn't a known issue with the Z. Ignition switches are not usually known to create heat and I have no idea why yours would be different. It might be just your imagination...
I just hope I'm imagining things, but I'm curious if others could confirm after having their car sit in the sun just touch the ignition and see if its just heat from sitting in the sun.

Well, I live in Colorado and the sun is very intense in our high altitude summers. The entire interior is HOT in my Z after a few hours. I don't usually touch the ignition switch, but imagine it does act as a heat sink after a few hours in the blazing sun. Perhaps the best test is to touch it at night after you've been out in it and feel if it remains warm.
well this seems to be a self solved question, but a tad worrisome, my car sat out in the sun from 5 am till 4 pm, when I got in I felt the switch first, nearly burnt my finger. So it was heated up by the sun, now my only concern is this; will the electronics be fine with it getting this hot?

While the steering lock has some electronic connections in it, it's primarily a mechanical switch. There's a sensor that reads the embedded key chip, for example. But none of those components are prone to breaking down because of the heat. You are needlessly worrying in this case.
