sentence structure sucks, but from what i gather you had a cel for camshaft position sensor and you replaced it. did you replace both, just one, with oem, aftermarket... did you go get codes read again?

in other words... what else did you do? my guess is nothing.... instead of doing some real troubleshooting you came here

Did you bother to reset your computer after you swapped the part? Your ECU needs to re-learn the condition of the engine with the new part in.

thanks I will try that when my sons friend can look at it again. he is the one with the diagnostic computer. I live out in the country, so I can`t drive it to town. I don`t pretend to very knowledgeable with cars. Thank you for your courteous reply unlike the other response .

Hi Wally... At about 85k I replaced one cam position sensor on my 2003 350z when throwing this code.

I was OK for a couple weeks and then experienced the problem you report (faltering power). The new problem code advised replacing the other camshaft position sensor. I did that and all was fine for 6 months when I started having power problem and the code was a crankshaft sensor. This time I replaced both sides, and that fixed the problem.

My most recent SES light was prompted by a faulty oxygen sensor code. I replaced that and all was well.

Yesterday the SES light went on again. I’m off to the shop tomorrow to discover the code and what sensor needs replacing now.

I tried resetting the ECU the manual way using the ignition key & the gas pedal. It worked, clearing the ECU. But about 15 miles into the drive,it started with stalling & loss of power. It also went to the max on heat gauge. I haven't been able to drive it anywhere to get it checked. Anyone have any ideas ? maybe the other cam positioner sensor is bad also?

As travlee mentions, it's time to have a professional diagnosis and dealer-read of the codes.
