Default Transmission issues

My 03 350z grinds gears from 3rd to 4th and from 5th to 6th. Does anyone have experience fixing this issue. I'm aware that their was a recall for this exact reason. I'll be getting a hold of zf on Monday to find out if my car can be fixed on the dealers dime. However since I'm not the original owner I doubt the y will do it or to much time has passed to have them do it for free. I've never dealt with a recall before so I'm coming here first. If anyone had this fixed or done it their self could you tell me what the fix was. Was it a larger clutch kit or something that had to be done more internal inside the transmission housing with the gears. Thanks all help is appreciated.

From my previous understanding its common in the year of 2003 for the syncros to go bad. You'll have to get them replaced / fixed.

Just google your issue, tons of threads already and some that discuss your said issue.
For repairs you'd look at around $1500-2400 and most people suggest upgrading the gear box to the latest version box CD009

+1 to that. If you're mechanically inclined OP, pulling the transmission in our cars is easy.

buy cd009 from concept z, a simple search would have given you the results you needed

you could replace the internals but would prob be cheaper and faster to swap

I had the exact problem with 4th and 6th. I spent money on a rebuild but if I have to do it again I would get a new gearbox and swap. It's not much more coin but will save you the headache and give you peace of mind.
