Default Somebody pls help - auto trans not working properly

I'm having issues with my 350z..Automatic Transmission. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Seems like it's slipping. I put it on drive and step on the pedal it only goes like 2 mph.. I switch it to reverse and I could feel the gears changing but it wouldn't move much..somebody Pls help

Sounds like the ball bearing socket is stripped.

Or a clutch plate, do autos have clutch plates?

Fluids maybe?

So many different things can cause issues with automatics, but it sounds like a problem with the torque converter or potentially a low fluid scenario.

I recommend taking it to a transmission specialist. Automatics are horribly complex, so much of the transmission's functions are controlled both by electrical components, but also the flow and pressure of the fluid. This could be purely a mechanical failure, but could also be an electrical issue.

Sorry- gotta provide more info than what you've posted to get some legit answers. Start with what year Z it is and how many miles. When did you purchase it and when did these tranny problems first occur? Were there any other factors that preceded these issues?

Your tire pressure is probably low causing the g-force to throw off equilibrium in your Z's pendulum when trying to accelerate. I suggest changing your tires.
