Hi,


So I've barely started to hear this noise under my hood, It's a clicking noise coming from I think the engine maybe the chain. Unsure, video helps understand the sound a little more..

Link don't work and that ticking can be anything with the little info you told us. Best thing I'd do is bring it to a reputable shop to diagnose the car.

 

Does it work now? Not sure how to make it work.

 

It works now, you are fine. I wouldn't worry about it very much, VQs run pretty noisy anyway. But to be safe I would bring it to a mechanic to diagnose for sure.

 

Alright, just wanted to make sure it's nothing to major..

 

Np, also some advice, make sure to run 91 octane or higher fuel on these cars if you aren't doing so already, as they are pretty high compression. Better fuel will make the car run smoother.

I'm a bit late on maintenance stuff. Might killed my stuff cause of that too..

 

Probe the engine with an automotive stethoscope (they're dirt cheap) to try to pinpoint where the noise is coming from while the engine's idling.

 

I've actually kinda tried, It's coming from the actual engine bay.. and not the timing's..

 

Have you ruled out the top ends as the source of the noise? Right now I'm thinking the valves are causing that noise?
