Default 2007 Z hard start/fuel consumption?

Hey guys, over the past few weeks I’ve been noticing my Z intermittently having a hard time starting. I’m talking having to hold the key 5-6 seconds, sometimes having to turn it over more than once, occasionally it’ll start but idle really low (like around the 200rpm range). The last thing I did to the Z was a positive battery terminal, and it’s very secure on the post so I don’t think it’s that. Any ideas?

Also, I was headed home this evening and I put 10$ in the tank. Got me up to around half. Once I hit the interstate (going around 80-85 with traffic) I noticed my fuel needle and DTE was dropping very quickly. Like so quickly my gas light came on. So I pulled off an exit that I knew had gas stations between there and my house and my needle climbed back up to between half and a quarter tank of gas! What the he11!? I’ve got an AEM320 fuel pump and a Frankenstein AAM/CJM fuel return kit installed and tuned at Z1 so I know my tune is at least good. Anyone seen this problem before??

Sounds like a bad fuel pump/fuel sensor assembly. Check your rail pressure.

Not a prob. I posted some diagnostic numbers at the bottom of this sticky thread for the fuel level sensors/senders. Check your year's FSM to make sure the numbers are the same. It's a fairly straightforward test to perform using a multimeter, though unfortunately, you do have to pull the fuel pump assembly out to perform it.
