Default Horn Sounding when defrost is on

So I've had an electrical gremlin spring up recently and was wondering what causes it. Issue is the horn sounds when defrost is on (quick beeps) and when I lock the car with the key fob the horn sounds as loud as possible until I turn the car on.

Car is an 05 350Z Base 6MT, 114,xxx miles.

Thank you in advance

It's an advanced safety feature: Warns other drivers that driver can't see and y'all had best get the h*ll outta da way.

Sorry, must be Friday.... couldn't resist after a week of dealing with seriousness.

And no, sorry, no clue about real solution but would suggest you start with easy and get your battery and charging system checked. Autozone, Pep, O'Reilly can do a free, simple load test. Might be just a battery or worst case, alternator. Your voltmeter doing anything different on the dash?

The car has trouble starting, but floats right below a steady 16 volts

OK, let's look at "Easy+"... you pull codes (or have one of the stores I mention do it if you haven't a scanner?)

I drove a Porsche 911 that would honk its horn sometimes when I turned left. I had a very interesting exit from Aspen after skiing when every turn I made was a left (honk...honk...honk).

J.Wolfe... Your problem is likely a short. You will need to trace some of the wiring to fix this. That isn't easy to do.

Maybe you got your IPDM wet. It's located behind the battery against the firewall within the battery compartment. Did you try resetting your ECU? If not, try that. Remove negative battery terminal and pump brakes 15 times to deplete ECU capacitors. Reconnect negative terminal. Check your IPDM for moisture first though.

For sure... J.Wolfe is experiencing a short.

That (a short) can be difficult to locate.
