Default Distributor

I have a 2003 Nissan 350z and recently replaced my cameshaft sensors because the car would struggle to start up but now with those replaced the car will only start up perfect if the engine is at a low temp. I got it scanned and it says it’s the distributor but I cannot find any videos relating to how to replace it can some one confirm that this car has one and where it is located?

Lost in the sauce on this one usually YouTube will tell you everything and that’s how we fix it ourselves but absolutely nothing about it on the internet

I have to know this.... what exactly was the DTC that said it was "the distributor"?

I mean, you are aware that there is NO distributor, yes?

Hey, I'm pretty sure this is lost in translation.
Can you post the error code here?

So we replaced the camshaft sensors and the crank shaft sensors and the engine temp sensor and we did that one because the car starts up perfect and runs perfect but when the engin gets hot and you turn the car off and need to start it up it just won’t turn over it keeps trying and trying to start but give it an hour or so and it starts up with no hesitation and the car isn’t reading off any error codes so there is nothing to scan so we are trying to fix this car blindfolded pretty much

the car isn’t giving any arror codes anymore so there is nothing to scan it won’t start up when the engine is hot only when it’s at cool temps

i know that now but the guy at autozone said it was a distributor so I went looking online but couldn’t find a single thing about it that’s why I was so confused but we replaced the camshaft sensors crankshaft sensor and the engine heat sensor and it still struggles to start when the engine is hot I have to wait for the engine to cool down then it starts up instantly

Well, there are codes that have the word distributor in their interpretations so it might just be a case of him just parroting something he read without much thought about if a spark distributor actually existed. Wish could be of more help.

Just a couple of thoughts:

Have you checked battery voltage/charging system?

Did you buy cheap gas somewhere lately?

While seemingly unrelated to the issue, they could both produce the symptoms.

I’m getting 14 and a half volts which is normal I have always gotten that much and I always get premium gas from a wawa down the road so I know it’s not the fuel

It's hard without any codes, as you said.
When you mention it doesn't start when it's hot, does it crank?
I mean, it could simply put be the starter.

I think we figured it out and yes it does crank but it doesn’t turn over but we put some starting fluid in the air intake and it starts right up so my dad believes it a fuel pump problem so we just ordered one and should be here tomorrow. Fingers crossed
