2003 350z, 142k miles 6MT

Fuel gauge doesn't read correctly, mainly shows empty with the exception of when the tank is full, it shows half a tank.

Received a check engine light today, code is p0461 - Fuel Level Sensor Circuit. No abnormal side effects since the light came on. Is that just the fuel float getting far out of place? Any input is appreciated.

 

There are two different fuel tank sensors (left and right side). You may have a failure in one of the sensors.
