Default Cam sensors Nissan OEM is Hitachi and how to test sensors

This is helpful so you don't waste money on cheap after market sensors.
I had code P0340 and P1078 and when I started reading about the after market sensor that don't seem to last I tracked down the OEM supplier as Hitachi. I called Hitachi and spoke to a tech support who confirmed that Hitachi supplies Nissan's sensors.
The Nissan p/n 23731-AL61A angled connector is Hitachi p/n CPS0005
the Nissan p/n 23731-6J90B straight connector is Hitachi p/n CPS0008
Using the Hitachi p/n you can find the sensors for under $50/each
You can go to
https://www.hitachi-automotive.us/do...icaCatalog.pdf
for a download of Hitachi's catalog sorted by vehicle make and model.
NOTE This is the link to the current catalog, when I first posted this I had a link to a 2017 catalog. If you look at both catalogs there is a difference in the Hitachi P/Ns for both camshaft sensors. I don't know why but I do know that my 2006 has the CPS0005 & CPS0008 and those are the parts I used. Here is Hitachi's contact info if you have any questions.
Hitachi Automotive Systems Americas, Inc.
6200 Gateway Drive, Cypress, CA 90630
Tel: 949-471-3500 Fax: 949-471-3522
www.hitachi-automotive.us

NOTE: when you go to the link it may open a new browser with a blank page but the catalog SHOULD be in your download folder

Hitachi p/n CPS0005 angled sensor = Nissan 23731-AL61A driver side intake and passenger side exhaust (angled sensor)
Hitachi p/n CPS0008 straight sensor = Nissan 23731-6J90B driver side exhaust and passenger side intake (straight sensor)
New sensor readings are the same for both, because it the same sensor electrically but the connector is either straight or angled.

FLUKE model 87 (this is a better quality meter that has been calibrated)
(+) (-) meter leads

PIN numbers are left to right looking into the sensor connector NOT the wire harness connector

1-2 = 90K these are readings for new sensors
2-1 = 96K
1-3 = 90K
3-1 = 95K
2-3 = 1.2k
3-2 = 1.2k
My bad sensors read between 1.2K ohms and 15 meg ohms
