2006 350Z won't fire after battery disconnected
Hi all - Our 350Z sat in garage this winter. When trying to start this spring the battery was weak (I did start it once per month all winter and let idle for 30 minutes or so). Noticed battery terminal was a little corroded so I took it off, cleaned everything up, charged battery to full and reassembled several days later. Now the car will not fire! Cranks fast, everything seems okay just no fire. Reading some other posts I did try the lock and unlock doors with key fob thing, tried the turn key on and off 10 times thing...nothing. We only have 1 key or I would try the other but cannot. What can I do???? Ordered an ODBII reader today but it seems like it has to be something simple because it has worked perfect and the battery disconnect has to be related somehow. Thanks....
Did you ever figure out the problem?
I just disconnected and reconnected my battery and it is doing the same thing. It cranks nice and strong but will not start .
i will start one out of several tries

Yes I got it figured out but it sucks. Luckily I have AAA so I had it towed to Nissan dealer. The problem is if the battery is disconnected too long the computer in the car forgets what key is matched to it. Took him all day but did finally get the key paired to the car again. Now I keep a battery tender on it all winter.
if yours has only been disconnected for a little bit then that might not be your issue. The other time there was similar no start issues it was the PCM where the relays are. That can be checked by swapping relays around. I ended up buying used PCM off ebay and that solved that issue but still keep a few new relays in center console just in case.

Oft neglected but not-too-unusual issue is the ground cable. Not the terminal end at the battery (although that corrodes too) but at the grounding point on the fender. Disconnect that end and give the cable end a good tug. Don't be surprised if the terminal end breaks off due to internal corrosion of the cable stranding not visible.
However, post #2 says there's a CNS situation (crank no start). Whole different ball game. This is far more difficult to diagnose as it could be anything from fuel to air metering to ECM to.... you get the point. Since you have power, pull the DTCs and use that as a guide to where to look first.
