AC Delete
Good evening,
I've got a 2003 Nissan 350z track edition and I just had a few questions about going "full race car". As of right now my car is on jack stands in my garage with my engine completely removed from the chassis. I originally wasn't planning on taking out my AC completely, but, since it doesn't work anyways and I don't want to fix it I was hoping to just get rid of it and clear up some room in my engine bay. The issue is the system is still charged and I can't take the car to a shop to have the freon taken out. There isn't anywhere to rent a AC recovery unit and they are around $500. Anyone gotten rid of their AC before and drained everything without the special tools?
I didn't see any threads on this. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

If it doesn't work it's likely it's not properly charged. You can get a cheap A/C Guage for about $10 at any parts store, then you'll know for sure.
Also keep any parts you pull for the next owner.
