Default Worn out center console

May the forum gods forgive me if I missed something in my search. I'm getting tired of looking at my worn out upper center console. (The part that goes around the radio, nav screen and mini gauges.) It's been that way pretty much as long as I've had it, but I've always had higher priorities than kicking out 250+ dollars for a replacement. But it seems next to impossible to find a cheaper option. My current one is fine other than the original rubberized paint being worn out. Does anyone have any suggestions for refreshing this?

My center thing was wore out when I got my Z, had rubber crap peeling and whatnot. I washed it with soap and water first then just sprayed over everything with some cheap matte black spray paint (used a whole can ) Looks good, I can take pictures when I get home, but its held up for 5 years, and you can still see the embossed pattern. Made a BIG difference for the "interior feel"

I'd love to see, yeah post'em when you can. I hadnt considered repainting my current peice but it makes sense. I've seen that someone used rubberized undercoating spray paint as well. Getting curious.

The forum gods have convened and have decided to look past your prior indiscretion as long as you atone for your actions.

lol

So near the climate control was worst. All the factory rubberized stuff was peeling. Did my best to clean with soap and water and light abrasive (a rag), but you can still see remnants. Looks fine to me

I was actually doing some work behind the console last time I gave the car any attention. Not finished yet

I sprayed over all this. Paint was fading around the top of gauges and in the little dished areas. Also rubberized stuff was peeling towards the bottom

The car's covered in a thick layer of dust, and it kinda looks like the paint is chipped but I assure you it's not

I did all this 5 or 6 years ago. Took a day and cost seven bucks

Curious, what did you use to spray? Looks good. Duplicolor or one of the others mentioned in the other threads? I don't need to do this but my project may need something similar.

Thank you. I am so glad I found your post because I was searching for it for my friend. I want to help my friend because he also helped me recently by sharing the https://www.topessaywriting.org/samp...mputer-science website with me through which I can read free essay samples.
