Default HELP! Grease Streaks....

on my windows ('03). I read in another thread that this is one of the more common problems with this car. What's the problem and is there an easy fix?

Hey buddy, try using the Quick search button on the top right hand of the forum and type in Grease Streaks you will come up with a lot of information or wait and see if someone will reply with your answer.

Well,

I just got my Z yesterday and this is my first post. I guess I will pop my cherry on this website by calling SoBe a DICK. I hope you do not represent others on this site with your pretentious attitude, you *****!

There is a TSB out on this. The fix does work, however many are reluctant to have them perform the fix because door panels must be removed. Some, if not many have experienced door panel damage. Insure your dealer has someone who has performed this in the past. To learn more about TSB's, go to

I was one of the first to get the grease streaks fixed when they released the TSBs. I've not had a single problem with either door, and it was done almost a year ago now.

Just find a respectable dealer, and ask them to do the work.

I had the grease streaks but never had the TSB done. The grease streaks just went away on their own and I didn't have to worry about the service department screwing anything up (even though i like my service dept. ) I'm pretty sure others also solved the grease problem by just letting it go away over time.

I agree, with time it will go away. Better to use some glass cleaner than have them rip your doors apart trying to fix something this minor. You will only have problems with rattles and scraps on paint or door panels if you let the dealership fix it.

There is a TSB on the grease streaks so take it to the dealer. But, the boneheads at the dealer need to review the service procedure to make sure they do not screw up the adjustment on the windows. Also, make sure they put the three tape disks back over the holes that allow access to the glass. If they don't the door will allow water in.

I wonder if they hung the engineer who designed the window slider that caused thousands of people to have troubles?

I agree just let the grease wear out. I had my door panels marred, clips broken, window was left too tight and some greasy finger prints on head liner
