Default Supercharged 350Z problem.....

AT 5 Speed w/ ATI procharger

I've run into a little problem and can't figure out what's causing it.

While driving in normal AT mode the car shifts fine at a usual 3k rpm
But if the accelerater is pressed all the way down
(basically punching it), the car will stay in one gear without shifting and almost redline where I think fuel is being cutoff. So the car feels and drives rough until you slow down or stop accelerating.

The car never did this before and this just started 2 days ago
I don't know if the tranny is going or maybe the ECU is f*king up
Or maybe I need new fluid or am low on tranny fluid but things to consider....
Car has 43,000 miles on it
About 15,000 w/ procharger
Tranny fluid was changed once but not a complete flush just drain and refill 4 qts.
What do the guys/girls of the board think might be the problem???

Thanks to those who can give me an answer!

Talk to 12secZ. I believe he had the same (or very similar) problem with his Automatic Z and his Procharger. He worked his out though.

Hey Doc, how much did the procharger cost ? and is it worth it ? did you take it to a performance shop for the install ?

Did you pretty much void every warranty that came with the car ?

Hi everyone and Happy Easter,

First off have you heard about the potential timing problems? You may want to address that. I doubt it is your tranny fluid it is a closed system.

What I bet it is others here have experienced with FI and the A5T in general. (nice the whole post just posted I just woke up and have to edit in lol bear with me I hit a wrong key.)

The FP drops just before the shift and the Valve Body and Transmision Control Unit were not designed for FI.

It sucks but it is not your car or ATI it is a known A5T/FI problem.

Some here are replacing their TCU and upgrading their VB.
That cost a couple grand.

An esier way is to give it more fuel and retard your timing and *rasie the rev limiter*.

AA does it Techtom programming in MD but I am not sure how far they have come along with the timing yet, I know he can raise your rev limiter but you *must* address your timing or your engine might be singing the "she bangs" song.

Here is a link, call them Monday and maybe by then the search feature will work. There are tons of threads on this.

Things you can do while you wait is check all of your vaccum line, if you have a boost guage it should be at exactly -15 without a load. I highly reccomend having one. Mine was at -20 because of a small leak and I tracked it down and tightened it and this too seemed to help, it's a combo of all of the above (the fix.)

I will post more after I am awake I hear my wife yelling at me.

Peas!

Max

Wow,

Reading that hurts. I am awake now here is the link.

http://www.technosquareinc.com/contact.htm

Or if you think just raising the rev limiter is enough (hopefully others will chime in here after the Holiday) Altered Atmosphere in MD can do that and are closer to NJ. There is also a Techtom flash box in Texas. Personally if it were me I would go with Technosquare because they have the most experience with the Tectom ECU flash program and can do your timing and add more fuel if needed. As for the VBU I have to place a question mark next to that. They claim they have done it but someone sent me a tracking number that says they are keeping his VB. His story seems to be holding up too because almost a month later it still hasn't moved, check the tracking number on it. The Company hasn't came forward with their side either nor responded to my email to them asking about the situation. Anyway they claim they can fix it but haven't proven it to me anyways.

If it was the tranny wouldn't the "AT Check light" come on also?

Technosquare is the official importer of Techtom products. Tadashi also helps Techtom Japan with their R&D and teaches others who buy the Techtom flasher how to use and tune the car. So who do you think have the most experience tuning the Z with the Techtom flasher.
