Question Enthusiast Brake Rotors

My brakes have been squealing (14K hard miles) so I took it in to NTB.

When they checked them out, they found that the front rotors have a "lip" on them around the outer edge that they swore shouldn't be there. They also said the rotors were too thin and out of spec.

I find this hard to swallow for a couple of reasons:

1. If the brakes had worn the rotors down, there would be a "groove" on both sides of the pad, not just a lip on the very outer edge.

2. I think they were comparing the rotor width to the Brembos on the Touring, not the Enthusiast...

At any rate, I wasn't going to buy rotors from anyone but the dealer since I don't want to give *any* ammo to Nissan should I need to lemon law my car...

IMHO all I need are brake pads. Can someone confirm or deny?

Check the thickness of the rotors with calipers.

Min specs are :
Front : 22mm
Rear : 14mm

Hmm, I don't have calipers. But when NTB checked it, it was indeed less than 22. I am pretty sure 22 was the reference number in their book, and mine was like 19 or something.

How the heck did this happen??

14k of hard braking must have done it...
It's easy to change yourself.

How are the rears ?

Rears are fine, and the pads still have lots of life.

I took it in to the dealer today and they machined the rotors (I really expected I needed new ones) and replaced the pads. It stops again.

$300 though. Including an oil change also.
