Default New '06 Owner - Has anyone ever seen hand controls on a Z?

Has anyone ever seen hand controls on a Z?

Pictures

I broke my back 8.5 years ago in a motorcycle accident.

If anyone has a disable friend or you are disable yourself and have good upper body strength, feel free to send me a message and I can definitely tell you how you can get in and out of the Z with a wheelchair. When my wife is a passenger, the chair also fits (spare tire is removed to make room for the wheels on the wheelchair).

I grew up with sports cars, just glad to be living again! I love my Z!

I was walking by the Nissan dealership today and decided to stop by and take a look at some of the Zs .. The sales person didnt know that much about the car(not here to bash the dealership).. I pointed out to him that the front is dfferent between the years plus some other differences..He seemed surprised.. I played around with it alittle I didnt drive it since i dont have my license backk.. I was amazed how close the shifts where since that was my first time in a Z i didnt know what to expect but i liked the feel..

Question: 03-04 or 05-06?

Anyone have suggestions on why you should pick a 03 or an 06?

Man, you're hardcore. If I had broken my back I'd be driving the most plush ride available, not a Z. That's cool.

I don't think he's actually looking for help on the topic...I think he's simply stating..."have you guys seen this done before"...and then showing us pics of the hand controls he's had put on his Z.

To the OP.....congrats on the Z....sorry to hear about your back. It's great to see your still "living" though and won't let a little thing like a broken back stop you from driving what you wanna drive.

Yeah my best friend is in a wheel chair and his chair just about fits in the trunk. I got to finagle it in, but it fits.

Thanks for posting those pics of that type of hand controls fahrenheit350. I have seen those before and have considerred putting them in, but I have long legs and with my right leg usually brushing up against the middle console, there isnt much room there. Also my wife is short, and if she adjusts the seats it makes it a bit more difficult that the seat would hit the control. I have some trunk control, but still the Sparco is nice. I may have to look into that.

Those hand control are by Menox I believe (link: http://www.menox.org/eng/handcontrols.htm). You can even get carbon fiber skin put on the **** too!

And to everyone else, thanks for the kind words! I am probably living life more now (and appreciate it more a well) than I was before I had my accident.

I had seen a pic of a Z while back done by Nissan where it was handicap accessible. I wish I had a pic of it cause it was damn cool how they did it. I think they were just show casing the Z being catered to those who are physically disabled. Anyone have a link or something? I'll try searching.
