Default UPDATE! :: MY Z IS TOTALED! Pics inside

Hey guys, so on friday night, i sat around and washed and waxed and polished my car for about 3 hours for a car show the next morning, after all that, at about 2 AM I hear a big SCREECH! BOOM! outside, I didnt pay it any attention like an idiot because I was half asleep, about an hour later, one of my buddies was driving home and called me cause he passed by my house only to tell me MY CAR had been hit, and bad! Well apparently the guy who hit it was drunk and I actually went to school with him, but he was older than me. Now I have to go talk to the insurance tomorrow hoping that my car will be marked as totaled so I can grab another Z instead of getting mine back with a mark on its title and having the difficulty of selling it later. Anyways, here are the pictures of what happened

Before::

AFTER::

After checking out all the damage, here's what happened:
The axle is broken completely and hanging down on the ground along with my suspension being bent and broken, obviously my rear bumper and fender and taillight are destroyed too. Worst of all, my CCW's are down the drain. But the damage isnt done there, my front bumper now has marks all over it from when the car went up the curb, and both passenger side wheels have bad curb rash from the curb. I hate Hate HATE drunk drivers. Tomorrow I'm meeting with the drivers insurance company at the body shop to assess everything. Wish me luck!

How many miles and what year? You need 80% in damage of the value of the car for it to be totalled. That, to me, looks fixable.

well the car is a 04.5 and i had 30400 miles on it, and the only problem i have is that on the 12th my car was supposed to be picked up and shipped back to arizona because im flying back on the 18th for school, so if they are repairing the car, they have a limited time which will hopefully mean they will just write me a check, but either way, i'll still be driving a Z. and i do know the guy, luckily he left a note on my windshield with all his info

So what state did this happen in? Did they go find the guy that did it after you found out about it/called the cops, and were they able to prove he was drunk?

This is all around a crappy story. I'm sorry for your loss, I really liked your wheel/tire set up and remember your thread after you got them put on.

Well let me make everything clear sorry, it happened in illinois, and my neighbors happen to have people over this night and had witnesses, see the driver hit my car, leave and then later on, a car came back to leave the note on my windshield, then another neighbor told me they were having a party at their house that he was at and he left very drunk, and drove down the block and when taking the turn too fast, hit my car. I called the cops at 3am which was about an hour after the whole accident happened. At first I thought it was a hit and run because I was in such a shock, I didn't think about looking on the windshield for a note, later on when the cop was about to leave after filing the report, we realized there was a note on my car and the cop went over to the guys house because supposedly his car wasn't driveable to come over, even though after hitting my car he was able to drive the 1 mile back to his house. Now tomorrow morning I'm meeting up with his insurance company to assess all the damage and hopefully have it listed as totaled.

same exact situation happened to me back in january. My z was parked on the side of the street and heard a loud bang. Went out and my Z was hit hard. Mine looked worse than yours and they ended up fixing it. Good luck with everything
