Default Custom turbo build

I've actually never posted here about my S13 build but the story is, i bought a stock s13 back in 2009 and i've been building it slowly. Long story short, i went through a couple platforms and since i used to have a twin turbo 350z, i stuck with the vq35 platform. I drove the vqs13 for a little while and decided it needed more power to initiate some good drifts. So this thread is not really a build thread but just to share some of my life. lol.

Heres when i first bought the car in 09

Heres what it looks like now.

The last picture is from today. I have to still weld in the wastegate pipe and 02 sensor bungs.

And heres a quick video of me on the first day the vq was out on the road. I just had to. lol

Sr20 is a good block and all but its just too played out. I've been building cars for a long time so i figure lets do something that is uncommon. Not too many turbocharged vq swapped S chassis out there. Out of a SR or RB series, its usually a LSX which is great reliable power but I love vqs man. I've been quiet a few of them and I'm pretty familiar with the setup.

check this build.. the guy started with RB Swap in his 240z and then he went to VQ35DE..

http://www.the370z.com/members-370z-...ject-rb-z.html

a very nice and long build..

i just dont feel a JDM with a V8 Sound.. if you want a reliable engine u can drop N/A VQ. cost wise... do you think vq swap will cost less than sr20?

In comparison, i think the vq might be a slight bit more expensive but that depends solely on the builder. I bought my 03 vq and cd009 tranny for 800 bucks from a member on here so depends on how you shop and build i guess.

I hardely get time to work on the car. So i installed the wastegate pipe, welded in 02 bungs and fabbed up some intercooler piping made of mild steel. The wastegate dump and downpipe are both going out the hood on the drivers side. Its gonna be loud as heck but i never drive it, its a garage queen lol

Here's a more updated pic. I took this today. I just need a few lines, bigger injectors and a haltech pp and this car should be ripping down the street.
