First mod of the year, finally installed my Z1 undershroud today. No direct pictures yet. More than likely will wait to take pics after i get my new front fender liners and finish up the job. Plan on ordering during the next week.

Hey Rusty, just "found" your build thread. Impressive. After just doing the valve cover replacement and dealing with that wiring harness, I think I am going to look into that engine wire tuck you did. That Harness is in the way of everything when you are working. Given I just removed and installed the harness, I fee like I know all those plugs everywhere pretty darn well. LOL. I am want to get that shroud as well. Just did an oil change yesterday with my son and the original shroud is in pretty bad shape. Beautiful Car!

Thanks Jim.
It is very time consuming to do the tuck, yet very worth it IMO. Not sure if you noticed but also tucked fuel and coolant. Honestly wouldn't recommend tucking coolant unless you are ready to deal with sorting bleeding issues. Many ways its easier to purge the air, yet in some ways if not paying attention can be more difficult. Still want to clean up the bay much more.

when I eliminated all the the in & out coolant hoses, I added a 1/4 (AN-4 fitting on my rear coolant pipe) and along with a 3/16" hole in my thermostat housing bleeding is a 10minute task. Definitely made my life easier!

Bleeder on the thermostat housing sounds like a great idea. Next time i have to open up the cooling system again will have to do this. Was planning on upgrading to a nismo thermostat down the road anyway. Really would like to upgrade my radiator from the chinese knock off i have to HPI or equivelant.

New parts finally on order
1. a/c service kit -- expansion valve, drier and oring kit. A/C wasn't functioning last year and low side pressure was exceeding high side. Figured would get the parts together now so i don't have to worry about the summer heat coming. Texas tends to be a little warm

2. Brake upgrade --- Had been going back and forth over this over the last month or so. Was going to do the z1 2 piece upgrade but decided i don't need that much brake. Ended up buying the stoptech stage 4.2 kit with lines and motul 5.1 fluid. Even this kit will more than likely be over kill for my driving style, yet if i get the oppurtunity over the next couple years to hit an open track day will have the potential available.

3. Wife rogue parts --- long over due trans service including both filters (most people don't know about the 2nd filter) 2 outer tie rods and amsoil cvt fluid.

4. Father inlaw's Sequoia --- air pump bypass kit, if anyone knows the 2uzfe engine. They are prone to air pump issues and this will prevent high cost repairs later.

I won't post pics non z related but will have plenty over the next month tinkering on most of our cars. Definitely can't wait to upgrade my brakes for appearance and function.

Well i was woke up early to an extremely good morning. Finally received my last VA retro payment. Will be paying off numerous debts this weekend and got some more goodies coming for the Z.
Decided to make sure i didn't go too crazy and get decent parts but not top end since i won't be doing any sanctioned racing. Eventually just track day events are my plans
here is today's list:
vq carboncustoms steering wheel--- this was a must, current is very shredded and comes apart when the air is damp. Nasty on the hands when trying to go somewhere
spl -f/r endlinks, compression bearing, lockout bolt kit (have 1 p2m brand and they are rusting, hate rust)
hotchkis - f/r swaybars, been wanting these a very long time
Voodoo13 - fuca, traction and toe arms, already have camber arms installed from several years ago.
bc racing - ds true style coilovers with rear extenders. Didn't want the base models but didn't want to go 510 fortune auto price.

Will definitely have pictures to post over the next month with this weeks orders.

Of course mrs and i have some home projects to catch up on as well since we are expecting grand babies from both our boys(bitter sweet)

You need to start a wire tucking business using a VA small business loan.

If my health was good enough would do so. Currently working on getting back in to the local car community and eventually hope to drum up a little cash business here and there. 2-3 cars a month is about all i would want and nothing big. Honestly very suprised that no one sells a tuck harness yet. They make just about every other swap harness.

Since there isn't much content about a/c expansion valves, decided to take a couple shots this evening after removing it. Tomorrow, plan on pulling the drier and blowing the lines out. Then installing both new. Most of the better content should start next week.
Mic --- i know you like pictures so i did this for you

3,000 words untyped. 🤡

But yep, I’m very visually minded. Pics do tell the story. Wish I could submit my work in pics but software engineers prefer my telling them what I need done. Which is kinda lame because the end products are graphical in nature. Go figure.

Good luck eith the cool work! <YSWIDT?>

Rusty, I might be a willing customer down the road a bit if you are interested in doing this for money. You are a reasonable drive up from The Woodlands. I have no idea what you want for something like that as it looks like a lot of man hours to do? Might make it too expensive for me, but put me on your "list" if decide you want to do it. There is another guy up in your area that does custom dash updates (colors on all gauges etc. ), I would think the same kind of person who has that work done, would also probably be interested in a wire tuck. You might look him up some time. I could find him for you if you are not aware of him. He is all over youtube with the work that he does.

Keep me in mind on this.

Its been quite some time since i did the tuck but would probably take a few days. Wire wrap material might be a bigger factor on price. Cost we can negotiate and may be more friendly than you think After i get my projects wrapped up in a few weeks we can figure something out.
