Infiniti (the company) is making some nice noise.

Imagine a sedan with room for five, 400+bhp and what do you think of?
Well, honestly, so many cars to choose from.
Oh, but wait, almost forgot.... with a manual trans. Kinda narrows the selection a bit eh?
Yup, that's what Infiniti/Nissan is teasing according to our friends at JNC (Japanese Nostalgic Car)!

Hmmm, now this is a car after my own heart (and money). Haven't wanted anything new in a decade and a half when I bought my Z34N and now that I'm a crotchety old phart with a bad back and considering selling off my Datsun roadster and my SL55 for a who knows what, this car might actually beckon. Had been (and still) considering a Q50 RS but if this true and not just fantasy, might be worth waiting for.

Infiniti has been rudderless for some time now. Remember when they were a luxury car company with F1 performance aspirations? Over the past decade they built a line of small and large SUVs and let what had been a decent sedan line molder. Then they announced they would go all electric? I don't know how their North American dealers managed to survive. But I hope Mic can dream about a high-performance sedan with a manual tranny, but I'll reserve belief until the day I see Infiniti get its act together.

But, not going to hold my breath over marketing hype.

Yup, I wasn't even sure they still existed. If I didn't pass by the dealership down the block from us on my way to dealer parts depts nearby, I'da swore they were gone And you're right about the whole SUV thing. That's all they seem to have on their lot. Although we've serviced a fair number of Q cars this year including 60s and a couple of Q50RS. Part of the reason I've considered them. They're not spectacular cars but they look and drive well enough; but honestly, it's the lineage I like.

Back on topic- it's not surprising that Infiniti went after the luxury SUV market, that's where the money went. But with the QX50 and QX55 going to dodo land, there's just not much left. QX80? Big, honkin' luxobarge that holds limited appeal. Where's the products that will bring new customers in search of entry level luxury options?

Honestly, this alleged sport sedan is a step in the right direction if true.
Now, how about a real successor to the G35/37/Q60 with the 450bhp, MT and supercar like styling? Even in limited numbers. Look at Toyota. They have the LFA and heck, even the RC (which I just drove a few days ago) is a decent looking car.
Sadly though, Nissan doesn't have the financial wherewithal to do it at the moment. Heck, even the R36 was in question. Fortunately, the R36 has been reportedly green lit and not electric.
But I saw some click bait fake tendering of an alleged "new Z" that actually looked amazing so the possibilities have gotten me interested again.
