My 1st ever run was a 14.7; my best is a 13.7 - all at Houston Raceway Park, which is supposed to be the fastest track on the planet
Soooo, I'm hoping to improve and try and get to -edit-13.5 (not 14.5) or better. Keep in mind I'm bone stock except for a K&N Drop-In air filter.
To get there I'm going to have to really concentrate on Launch, Tach, and shifting.
My Daughter Teah may not come, won't know until tomorrow...

Not to bring you guys' hopes down, but if you've ever been to the track and actually raced, you'd know that this isn't the track where you can set personal bests on. So, don't expect too much.
I don't see anybody getting 13.0 and I don't expect many to be running mid 13s unless they're on slicks/dr's. But either way, I hope everybody will have fun and improve their skills this Friday.
And nothing much is done to my car. You shall see at the track or Starbuck's (whichever comes first).

At Motorplex, do you have the tendency to spin your tires more than say Houston? And what are dr's?

LOL!
I have to launch at around 2800 rpm to keep from spinning. With those, what is your launch RPM?
I've been told to leave the TCS ON. What do ya'll think about that?

On street tires, most people would have to launch under 4K, if you don't want to fry your clutch. However, on drag radials (DRs) or slicks, your launch rpm may greatly differ, due to the fact that you have much higher coefficient of friction allowing you to launch with much more force.
Oh yea, leave the TCS and VDC off, as it will only hurt your time by killing the power to the wheels when wheelspin is detected by the car's sensors.
Hope this helped.

Yes, that helped, and thanks!

Not only that, the altitude plays a role in your track times as well. Also, some tracks just seems to be slightly shorter, a few degrees downgrade, or just more generous than some others, which would explain outrageous times (i.e., Atco).

I'm glad I was of help. And you're welcome.
BTW, I'll most likely tell you guys how my car will differ this time around than all my previous times at the track sometime tomorrow. If not, you'll see me at the meet up place/track and you can ask me then.

Cool, can't wait....
Another thing about the track; do they sell beer, and can you bring anything in?
