I was contemplating on going to the Houston SCCA autocross on Sunday but did not see much benefit in driving three hours (six hours total) for about 5-6 minutes of fun. So, it looks I'll be going to this meet this weekend.

The Forum Shopping Center may be a good place to meet for the SA caravan. Hooters in Selma is located near there also.

Anyone interested in driving the back roads back to SA after the meet? There are scenic two-lane roads that will take us from San Marcos to Canyon Lake behind the dam, and back to Schertz on IH35.

I was thinking of that as well. A drive would be nice if we can organize it and end up at a good place convenient for the Austin and SA guys. I was thinking of driving through the town of Gruene TX. Any thoughts?

Gruene is in the New Braunfels area so it's not that far from River Road, which is the route I was looking at on the way to/from Canyon Lake. If we leave the outlet mall around 4pm, there's still plenty of daylight left to do about an hour's worth of drive.

 

Im up for it. It gets dark right around 6:30. You should make a map and print out copies for everyone that wants to go.

The plan is to meet at Cracker Barel and eat, converse. Then we can decide if we want to take a cruise. I do not plan on freezing my a$$ off

 

its gonna be 79 degrees very light cloud cover. and sunny.....however its prolly gonna rain a little bit on saturday.....so u might need to wake up a lil early and wash your rides

 

Okay, we can do that. For the guys/gals coming out of SA, let's meet at the HEB on IH 35 & FM 3009 in Schertz @ 11am. There's a gas station there also if you need to fill up before the caravan. We'll roll out around 11:20 and head out to the outlet mall in San Marcos. If you get to HEB and we've already left, just drive up on IH 35 and catch up with us.

 

I can do that. Also, I will check with Bo Rivers at the Harris Hill Road track to see if they're out there on Sunday afternoon. If they approve it, we can drive out there (instead of a cruise), tour the site and drive a few laps around their road course. If I can't work this out, then we'll do the cruise after the meet.
