TMS Laps for Charity 9/20/08 (DFW)
Hey guys, we've got a small group (so far) of G's heading out to Texas Motor Speedway this coming Saturday to support the Speedway Children's charity. If we have enough cars we can sign up for car club registration 2 hours before the track opens to the general public.
The donation is $30 which gives you 3 laps around the track. You can also get a pic in victory lane for an additonal $10.
We have been tossing this around as our DFW G September meet. Check out our thread here -> http://g35driver.com/forums/events/2...-planning.html
Here's the flyer for the event:

The first thing that should be pointed out is that this is going for a good cause as all proceeds will be donated to charity! For that small donation you will get a chance to drive around the 1.5 mile track with banked turns at 24 degrees at high speeds!
Now if we want to do another activity before or after as part of a monthly meet we can definitely do that! If we go to TMS as part of a car club we will be on the track somewhere between 5pm - 7pm and most likely we will all be able to go out in the same group (which means we will need a dedicated photographer to go with!).
As for doing something before going to TMS, I would say it would have to be done sans alcohol ... and we all know that our meets are WAY more fun when they are avec (with) alcohol!!
So it would be my suggestion that we could all do dinner somewhere after the laps?? What does everyone think?
My suggestion for a dinner after the laps would be in Southlake around the Southlake Town Center area which is right off 114. There are plenty of restaurants and bars out there but it will be difficult to get a large reservation on a Saturday night. I already made a call to Snuffer's bar at the Southlake Town Center and they can't hold a big reservation on a Saturday night but they said they could probably do call ahead reservations. There are plenty more options beyond that - here are the dining places just in the Town Center.
Also as for a meeting place before, depending on the number of cars coming out I'm sure we could do a meetup around North Dallas and then drive to the track. I only live about 8 miles from TMS but (time permitting) I'd be willing to drive out to the meetup location and roll with the rest of the group! There is some interest from some of the my350z crew to join along as well!

Ok, we are up to about 8 G's planning to head out now. We won't be able to go out with the Car Club at 5pm as they are all booked, we will have to go out at 7pm with the Open to the Public laps.
We are planning to meet in Las Colinas area at Razoo's at 635 just west of MacArthur at around 5:30pm and cruise to TMS at 6:00PM.
Also, passengers ARE allowed, no helmets required. Check the g35driver thread for more details!
