Default Drag Meet Time!!!!!!! - Feb 7th, 2009

Where: Texas Motorplex, Ennis Texas
When: February 7, Saturday
Time: it says all day, I'm gonna assume it starts at 11am like it normally does
Meet to cruise: where, TBD.

So... who wants to go racing!!! I'm down!

I want to see enough Z's and G's out to get the domestic owners thinking there's been an Asain Invasion!!

Oh snap! I checked the schedule like 2 days ago and no T&T days were up yet. Nice looking out, Jason.

You know you don't even have to ask me to come. Jason, you get the camber and the fender issue resolved? Will you be running on street tires (you could ease it out until 3rd gear, I suppose) or do you have some stickies?

That's awesome since it'll be after the dyno day too. I'm so excited!

Actually this is one of the weekends I will be out of town. But I will probably be down there next weekend and the one after that to visit my dog. He is being trained right down the road from there.

got someone to buy my rears, trying to get a hold of some Sessanta 295/30/19's, but they're on back order, might just end up going with some Toyo R888's, sigh. Gotta install the camber kit asap, just havent had any time recently.

im excited too, i just pray i dont blow another motor out there, lulz.

Toyo R888 > Vredestein Sessanta anyway. Why don't you let me borrow your car for a day and I'll have the camber kit installed?

So either way, you'll be on street tires.. just sticky street tires. Nice.

What ET and trap are you shooting for?

I'm hoping for 40-50º weather with tailwind.

I r teh drag strip newb. I'll be happy to be in anywhere in the 12's.

120mph+ trap would be nice too. I love to drive my car and having the r888's would probably keep me from driving her too often and give my mr2 more work. sessanta are wonderful because they grip pretty well and are cheap so i can go through those without feeling too much of a hit in the wallet. sessanta's $500 r888's $800.

You know what they say better than anyone.. "gotta pay to play."

I think 12s should be easy even for the first timers or noobs.

I don't know what the best route for you (Jason) would be, but for most of the north Dallas people, we meet up at the same place as always - Starbucks at SW corner of Coit & 75.

Hope you got your fenders rolled properly this time and your negative camber issue fixed. At the very least, I hope you got your spacers taken out. (Or, you should do these things well before the drag race day to make sure everything is in proper order)

yanking the spacers on saturday. camber kit sunday and alignment. hammering the little part that sticking out on the fender. should be lots of fun.

Good to hear that. As for "hammering," I am going to say that hammering is a bad idea. Get a heat gun, or a hair dryer set on high, to get that part heated up nicely and then use a metal pipe (or something similarly hard and round) wrapped up in electrical tape or something (to reduce paint chipping and dents) to roll it in. Without a proper fender roller, it probably won't be too easy, though.

Rubber mallet is a hammer with the rubber end. That's not good.

I meant do something like this:
