Have you ever thought about one of the non SCCA events. I know Equipe Rapide puts on similar type events, uses scca rules, but is less money and less competitive.
They have something going on both next week and in the next months
August 23, 2009 - Pennington Field
September 20, 2009 - Pennington Field
October 11, 2009 - Pennington Field
November 7, 2009 - Mineral Wells Airpark
November 8, 2009 - Mineral Wells Airpark

I bought my R-comps here - http://www.jbracingtires.net/
Ask for some take offs - I got mine for 280 shipped. all four were 275/45/17's - they were the tires Jacob was running!
Mount them on stockers or look into some light weight wheels for autoX. see here: https://my350z.com/forum/7644727-post33.html

Will equipe rapide let me run?
And Solo RX-7, I hate to say it, but Jason was right about the guys being *******s, at least one was. I came in the wrong way and some guy proceeded to ***** me out. Maybe if I had seen some specific directions or signs? All I did was take the first turn after I saw the parking lot. I noticed the put new cones up though after I "went around the cones". But there were also a couple nice guys.

The guys werent that bad, they were the nicest people ive seen at 7AM in the Txas heat lol, not to mention the prolly got up earlier than that to set everything up... it was an okay event
The first slalom was full of fail tho lol, not only did it DNF quite a few people Corner 2 was havin a hell of a time reachin the cones when knocked over lol
And the guy in the white RX-8 is a real stand up guy, very helpful and competitive at the same time, forgot his name, but he was really helpful, even wathced one of my runs and gave me pointers when I got to grid
Did anyone see Mick Jagger driving the Challenger?? lol

not sure, but they seem to be more lax then SCCA
Here is another idea for us.
Lone Star Chapter BMW - Sun, Sep 13, 2009 Autocross/Solo II @ Mineral Wells Airpark
http://www.dlbracing.com/Clubs/drive...D=3812&LMID=58
They let non BMW non members compete in their events at least once. It is usually a small turn out and you get a lot of runs. Cost is $35, but you can only register on line .... NO day of the event registration.
