Yeah Yeah... what/ev... lol... This is something that i'm actually interested in competing in... at the same time, my car is my DD, so f-in it up is not an option... depends really on how long until the next one comes around... if they're spaced out kind of far then i probably wont pass it up...

Cool, understood. I dont have alot of the fancy camera equip that alot of the good photog guys have, but i do have a pretty good "all-around" cam... so i dont have to be really close, but the closer the better...
How far are these events spread out? frequency of events...
I just might compete if they dont happen too often.

This is autoX, aka parking lot racing.......you get at max Four 60 second runs on a flat parking lot with NO poles and a cone course........the likely hood to fug anything up is very slim to none.....

As for frequency:
The next event you cant go to because its held on The Texas Motorsports Road course - so beginners are not allowed - must have 3 autoX events minimum......see below in red

if your worried about scratches, etc.....the next event after that is at Mineral Wells - where the surface is really horrible and lots of loose rocks/debris.......many dont like to go there because of the scratches they get on their cars.......

Mineral wells is where drift events are held monthy....thats where i go and many autox'r dont like going there becuase they dont wanna scratch their daily driver.......

so, if you skip pennington this weekend -( which is a great spot for beginners like i mentioned a few times before, and my reason for pushing the event so much on the community to come out )- then your gonna have to wait till Novembers event TMS bus parking lot.......which is another solo favorite...

TMS bus lot is another good beginner spot - flat lot, no poles, but its farther out since its not in dfw like pennington, and facilities arent close by since its in the bus parking lot of TMS. Pennington is a really good gig they have going thats for sure...

-J

SOLO calender taken from the website:
August 16, 2009 Solo Event #6 Pennington Field
September 27, 2009 Solo Event #7
You must have run 3 autocross events before you run this event.
TMS Road Course ONLINE registration only! There will be NO WALKUPS allowed. Registration opens August 17.

October 25, 2009 Solo Event #8 Mineral Wells Airpark

November 15, 2009 Solo Event #9 TMS Bus Lot

I've got some bad news for the FX drivers.

I talked to our chief of tech last night, and we can't allow the FX's to compete. Because it's not specifically classified by the SCCA it falls under the SUV heading according to the NHTSA. The solo rules are very clear on this - we can't allow SUVs that aren't specifically classified. Doesn't matter what suspension is on it or how much it's been lowered. The measurements I was referring to are for pickup trucks that aren't classified, not SUVs. My bad.

I already PM'd Stuart so he should know, but I wanted to make sure ithe other FXs planning to attend knew about it ahead of time.

That's the number you'll need to put on your car, along with the class. NBS 74 or NBSP 74 depending on which class you registered for.

If you don't have your own magnetic numbers or decals we have panels you can use for numbering in tech.
